My favorite childhood memory!!

When I was young I was always the daddy's girl and my sister was always the momma's girl. My sister and I also didn't get along very well (who would have thought). Growing up in Dallas, Texas, there was plenty of memories to be made. Summer passes to Sixflags and the water parks, go-carts, gamerooms, lakes, you name it we did it. Every year we went on family vacations, every summer we made great memories together.
Out of all the things we did together as a family, my greatest memory was when my mother and I had a couple weekends of quality bonding. When I was a junior in high school my parents got divorced. Of course my dad got every other weekend. I was quite mad at my dad (being daddys little girl), so  I didn't attend the every other weekends as my sister did. I at the time was dating my high school sweetheart, Jim. Jim raced motorcross so of course I was interested too. Jim had invited me to go with him one weekend (the whole weekend), and my mom said I could go no problem. It was my dads weekend which meant my sister would not be home. So I asked her to go too. She said YES!! I had an awesome time with my mom that weekend in the middle of nowhere, watching guys race bikes. We had so much time that we went again but to suprise the boyfriend. He wasn't there, but we had a good time together anyways.
To this day and the next, for eternity, my mother is my best friend and I cherish every moment that I get with her, whether it be on the phone, internet, or in person. Every moment with her counts.

  1. Nice post. There are some spelling and punctuation errors you need to watch out for in the future. It's great that you have a good relationship with your mother. I had the same great relationship with my mother. She passed away last year. I miss her terribly, but having no regrets about my relationship with her makes it almost bearable.

  2. I had the same relationship with my mom when I was young. As I got older she was my best friend and secret keeper. My mother passed a few years ago and I miss her so bad. I have picked up the phone many times just to remember that I can't talk to her. I still miss the times that we spent with just the two of us. Enjoy all the years you have those.
